truce.

alas there was a high-five-hand-shake-kind-of-exchange between the boy and the 2 1/2 foot bully. it just might be over (it's only been going on for four stinkin' months). yesterday when picking up the birthday boy from school his padre was finally able to come face to face with the bully. and his glance at me of "are you kidding me" was crystal clear. and suddenly he was quite proud of his boy's restraint (his words) against the yapping chihuahua (my words) that would not stop taunting ridiculous tauntings. it was more than obvious it would have been the most unfair fight in the history of fights. and did he not have recollection of the arm wrestling champ?

my child could not be more beautiful to me. he did a great job working through the confusion and drama of this situation. it was the first of it's kind for him/us, and i'm certain it won't be the last. but i feel quite proud in his firm stance to not choose the violent route, yet be assertive and strong...and morally right (for the most part). what a complicated thing to figure out. (particularly when the whole family...mom included...secretly would have happily manhandled that little bully boy).
