the working sorts of this and that.

today I worked. well, the kind of work that makes me money. and i feel so strong and important making money for my family (cause it's part of what i do right now). so today brought me that good, strong, important feeling. particularly because lately i have been feeling recognized for and reminded of my talents and it has softened me and empowered me in great ways. i never feel fabulous about anything specific that i do, but rather feel capable of doing many things (none of which ever feel like my best which is kind of defeating sometimes- you've got to know what i'm talking about). it has felt good to be offering myself whether in service or for money (offering myself for money?...hmmm). it has felt good to have something to offer.
this week i have been preparing for a primary activity which will make up our saturday morning happenings. i have loved it. what an exciting thing it has been to plan, prepare, and build this great morning event for the children! i've been on a little high from it. i'm also trying to stay really in tune with what's perfect and what's over the top (as in so not necessary to add all the extra work). there has to be balance...and it's something i'm trying to hold with great respect. i want to be good/great/fantastic at balance. this weekend we are working to be strong links in our families. (thanks scharm, president hinkley, amie, and well, a bajillion combined ideas from the Friend, internet, camp, and life :)). i think these kiddos are going to have a ball. and i'm thinking the adults will too!
holy bunions! anyone? anyone? my feet are throbbing beyond throbbing beyond throbbing. something extra intense has been happening in these feet of mine. i can hardly stand it. i love them so....i'd like to care for them a little better than i do.
tonight my cute boy and i laid down to read scriptures. we've been much more regular lately than usual and i feel like i'm running through the fields singing on the Sound of Music. our trips slowed down life and shifted the focus. it's been beautiful...the dreamy kind of beautiful. tonight i began to read and one sentence into it, there was an instant lump in my throat eyes full of tears and speech brought to a halt. i was so overwhelmed by the spirit and by truth and all things good...not even from the words particularly, but from the act. from obediently reading as a family and building this strong foundation for us as individuals and family members. i physically feel it working. this conversation was sparked:
me: alec, do you feel the spirit when you read the scriptures?
cute boy: yes! i love them...i get so sucked in.
me: do you know that they are true?
cute boy: yes
me: do you feel that we are doing the right thing by reading them more?
cute boy: yes
me: me, too
and then we read a little more. and prayed. and i tucked that cute boy into lala land. he was asleep in .4seconds. i'm trying to get it all down...
lastly, i have some projects in mind for a particular self serving project. i'm working on the perfect introduction/invitation for basically all. i hope you find it interesting, and even worthy of jumping on board. it's unique, creative, and well possibly incredibly beneficial for all involved. when i've solidified the logistics i will present my plan...and you will love it. and you will want any and all who apply to be a part of it. and you will stop at nothing to do so. and i've run out of brainwashing words...soon friends, soon.
goodnight with love.
