christmas eve EVE was our first connection.
technology...internet...facebook allowed her to slip into my computer and greet me in my dining room. it was mind boggling and crazy. i think i cried really really hard for about 2 solid weeks. what a brave girl...she didn't know the depths of this emotional one she was contacting.
the thing is, i knew that my bio-dad had daughters. i knew that he and my mom divorced when i was 2, and that he later remarried, had children and lived happily ever after (there's a grapevine, ya know?).
but i didn't really know to consider him my dad. from my 2 year old self, i don't think i ever saw him again. i didn't know him. i didn't have a tangible knowledge of what he looked like or felt like, and i simply knew him to be in the universe (well, I was familiar with where(ish) in the universe). to not necessarily consider him my dad, meant to not consider his family a part of my family.
all the while...a knowledge of ME was prominent and real in his home. apparently not at all in the form of a skeleton in his closet, but in the form of a child. a part of his life he was not strong enough to do right (or maybe it was right, and this is how it needed to be). I WAS SPOKEN OF. the 2 sisters grew up knowing of their big sister. my baby pictures are in their home. even my birthday has been celebrated by their family every year. the story goes on and on, and in all honesty is quite sweet to me.
so my sweet ABBY and her hubby Josh, drove/fish-tailed their way across the icy roads of missouri the morning of all the snow, and came out to the farm for a life moment.
i happen to think we look like family. or maybe she's just so stinkin' cute i would like to think we look like family. :)
my child was in rare form that day....holy moly.
i have to recognize Heavenly Father's hand in this. it's real. it also puts my transition into perspective and the need for me to know/understand this part of myself in order to move on to some important things i want for MEand my little family. i just had a desire to get lean and go green. and i knew that digging into myself was an important part of that....but i had no idea this is what He had up his sleeve. ever more important to process and learn.
happy monday processing THAT! :) (if i can do it, you can)

You are soooo sweet!
yay! how fun to see you here!! :)
I am SOOOOOO happy you are finally getting this resolved with your dad. Your sister reminds me of him. We all need to remember that we are just human and don't always make the best choices but I have no doubt he LOVES YOU very much. I also think this is one of the greatest examples of "DIVINE INTERVENTION". You are amazing and so deserving and I LOVE YOU BUNCHES! Mom/Nanna
