recent entertainment.

well, thursday was filled with lots of excitement and anticipation around here as we anxiously awaited our midnight family outing (me, my cute boy, his father, and my mother) to see yet another superhero movie. yes, yes, we were in the midst of several dressed up in batman or joker attire and MANY comic/batman fanatics. although for us it was just excitement that we somehow got caught up in, and then found ourselves each on board with being a part of the opening night festivities (coo coo, i know). i will say that it truly is a superhero movie. i'm hoping that i am not jaded in some way, but it didn't feel like a scary horror movie to me at all...rather a superhero movie with a really good villain (creepy, disturbing, & violent but good...if that makes any sense). even afterward alec commented that the joker was a really good actor. i loved that he responded with appreciation for his art (or maybe I'm totally relieved that I didn't traumatize him). it really seemed like a crazy adventure. and we cannot stop thinking about it.
this boy...this beautiful, beautiful boy did a fantastic job. really i am just completely blown away by his work in this movie. so really, when i say we can't stop thinking about it, i suppose it's really HIM we can't stop thinking about. good job, heath. very very good job.

so in a much more "appropriate" family outing, my cute boy and I (among friends) attended a most wonderful blog worthy event here in our great city of AUSTIN. if you have not been, and you are okay with the story....you MUST. you must look at the advertisement and determine your date and GO because i am telling you, Beauty &the BEAST at the Zilker Hillside Theater is amazing! the entire experience...the hillside theater (i totally thought of us, cass), the blankets pillows and cuddling, the trees and outdoorsy feel that I love so so much, the crowd of hundreds of people, the hopping from blanket to blanket saying hello to friends you see across the way and making new friends as you pass, the cast (holy moly!), belle who seriously sounded just like the movie when i closed my eyes (beyond amazing), the singing and movin' to the songs i know every word to, the price...free!, and more. i just can't rave about it enough. in fact, we are treating our entire family to this event before it's over for the summer. i give it all the stars, thumbs up and praise one can give. and since i am just a mom who loves this kind of stuff, you can take my word however you please. :)
