home teachers = This is an assignment given to men in my church (women are visiting teachers). "As part of their responsibility to watch over the members of the Church, home teachers visit their assigned families at least once each month to teach and strengthen them. Home teachers establish a relationship of trust with these families so that the families can call upon them in times of need."
my home teachers just stopped by bearing chocolate, chocolate chip cookies. they sang happy birthday to me in opera, played a few tunes on my cute boys guitar, made us laugh (even my mother who had briefly stopped by before hand), made a play date with my boy for trampoline basketball, and filled my home with the most beautiful spirit during their brief 10 minute or so stay. we love them.
i know that our church leaders were inspired when they designed this home teaching program. and i know that leaders were inspired when they assigned these 2 fantastic, particular home teachers to my little family. i am SO grateful for them.
