THEboss...and the MRS.

you know how you have a boss?
and then that boss has a boss?
and that boss has a boss?
and how this could go on and on or stop abruptly depending on where you are on the totem pole?
but eventually there is always an end at THEboss.

well, remember 2posts ago i spoke of moving day? (i should preface moving day with the fact that i had still not really cried about all this mumbo jumbo up to this point.) so when moving day came...which brought official real totallyTHISISREALLYHAPPENINGgoodbyes to my children, my team, and my school...the tears came along with it. in the form of flooding. big, dramatic feelings and tears. i was sad.

but i was also busy.
so i helped the crabby moving guys, drove over to the escuela that is "borrowing" me (i say) for a school year, and unloaded. i worked a bit in my room with a constant red wet face. after a firm stance i convinced the head honcho (who is only the first boss mentioned above) of the absolute need for students to finish the week in their current classrooms, and come to me at the start of next week. it worked. woohoo! i can honestly say the intensity changed x100. and i stopped crying.
i ran home to deliver food and kisses to my cute boy, changed into professional me (rather than moving dramatic me), and checked my email....all in about a 10minute window. when what to my wondering eyes did appear?! but an email from my boss's boss's boss's boss (aka THEboss)...which brought a sigh of relief and 1 more tear. APOLOGIES! acknowledgement, thanks, understanding, empathy, and a desire to make all this nonsense better! in fact, his sweet MRS. was coming to me 2days later to help put up the classroom. can you believe that?!

i had no time to process and i was back out of the door to PARENT NIGHT. but that email was my first sign that eVeRytHiNg wAs gOiNg tO be oKay (for real). so i locked the door to my classroom and greeted parents at Parent Night outside my door (another firm stance..go me!). and they were understanding and kind and great. i went home, held my cute boy tightly, and slept like a baby. perhaps because i had been crying like one all day long;)

2 days later the MRS. came!! this beautiful, smiling honey of a lady came bounding into my room announcing both her name and her gift [ARTIST] and pledged to help me with any and all. and boy did she! we think alike and there was quite a connection..it was great to pick her brain about all my plans. she saw my vision and her ability to make that reality without much direction was dreamy. cutting and laminating (hmf!)...she went beyond out of her way. i felt taken care of and validated. and i think that was the point;)
you should probably know this is like a celebrity or royalty (in education land) in your presence
. this was huge! it was also interesting(!!!!) to watch the staff and head honcho respond to her helping. they were perplexed! they also didn't know all the events leading up to HER coming to help....and well, they were perplexed.

meanwhile, WE were productive! oh the progress that happened in my room that day. pictures?pictures?pictures? they aren't exciting. and i didn't get one of me and the MRS. cause that's just weird. but i'll see what i can put together;)
& want to know who came IN just as she walked OUT? my sweet beautiful loving kindergarten team! they equally lifted my spirit. it was refreshing! rejuvenating! sooooo totally what i needed. i needed to be bombarded with their support. and i was. and i love them. and i'm teary now so i'll stop. (but seriously...i love them.)

& just as they were dwindling out my mom and cute boy came in for a quick gathering before heading over to TeacherHeaven. it's always funny to watch "civilians" go in there for the first time:)

i'm feeling lifted in many ways. i don't understand all of the events that have taken place at the start of my professional me. or why it all went down as it did. but all is still good and right in the world. i met children that NEED me. i feel it and i know it. i think i might be in a team that needs me too...they just don't know it. i feel like i might be needed to soften some hearts (or not. but maybe.).
and i could never do it without my peeps- who are just a phone extension# away (cool huh?!). i just pick up the phone and dial their extension just as i did on campus. sweeeet. (i really don't know why this brings me so much excitement??!).

{i will download my pictures soon and give you a visual before i drop this topic completely...do you feel updated or like i'm dragging it ouuuuut? i'm hoping updated;)}
OKAY so oober long post is going to end. abruptly. goodnight.

Wow Steph. I am SOO happy to be updated and stand in awe of how gracefully you manage amongst the unexplainable and totally unexpected! I adore you and know that your students, parents and team will too if they don't already...
