sweet...
i will say there was a slight dilemma for the boy. you see, he really wanted to play with a friend who he hadn't seen much over the summer. and the friend invited him over. so can't you see why he would be TORN? (whatever!) he was like, "i'm excited, but i'd kind of rather play with so&so" (uhhh...). the cute cute boy didNOT get to make that choice. we went. and even as we walked through the tailgaters on our way there, he realized he was right where he should be!
even in this pic below (he had just had another friend stay over)...can you tell who might have been a little more pumped about this surprise?! his friend (J) was like "no way!" and the cute boy was like "eh"

we hiked and escalatored our way up a bazillion heights. i'm not normally afraid of heights and i was totally nervous. and do you see this lady's beautiful hair behind us?!

and so um yeah...5 rows from the highest point in the entire stadium. after the initial shock, it was awesome! and i got to teach the boy all the TEXAS traditions and such, and he told me what was happening in the game. we were a perfect balance;)
cute boy, your eyes are closed...
here's the little tiny spec of Louisiana fans (below). the cute boy zoomed way in for this pic because in the sea of burnt orange it was crazy to only see a smidge of support for the others.

the sun went down, the moon came out, and we were in the sky a part of it all. very cool to look out at our city in all of this too!

it did rain a bit. a light rain. we didn't quite realize how much it was raining on us until we saw it on the jumbo-tron (funny that we didn't feel it!!). then we all started to get nervous that it might POUR. but it never did. and the boy did what every child there should....he ate the rain.
we did make a wise choice, and since it was a total spanking, we slipped out a couple of minutes early (literally a couple). and as we walked campus (mostly following the crowd) to night life, we watched the clock tower turn from white to orange. and we spontaneously made the clock our destination.
