&we got into town in enough time to nap, and then get all jazzy for a CANCERwalk "in town." grandma talked about it so casually, but once i got wind of what a big deal it was, we were quickly decked out in pink like no other. and then when i heard it was christmas themed it was ALL OVER. so we brought some austin spice to this small town event, and represented (holla) both grandma (the survivor) and grandpa (the memory). it was stinkin' adorable and so much fun.
they lit candles all around the track in honor of and in memory of.
it was quite a celebration to find grandma and grandpa's!!
there was thrift and antique shopping...holy collection for my classroom! (for like $zer0(ish). love it. love love love it.
and as always, there was kite flying.
trips to the country are great. grandma in her own space is way more blissful than grandma out of her space;). it's fun to help her and be with her. it's fun to escape the city. it's fun even sitting in the quiet of the drive watching the country side pass by. this particular trip was a perfect opportunity to get away from all that kept being asked of me back home. i couldn't seem to get away from it, and it was all too ridiculous/big/grand to not help with. and so away i went waiting for THEone call i was anxiously anticipating. want to know what happened? saturday evening, right at 12am, my phone rang.
