the 4th of July in our family of course brings great appreciation for our country, for tradition, and my ridiculous love of fireworks. it also is the day we celebrate grandma's birthday...for she is a yankee doodle sweeeeetheart...she was born on the fourth of July! {were you singing that with me?:)}it's been a while since we've gathered in grandma's kitchen due to a 100year remodel (or maybe it's only been about 3years??). so even a small glimpse of something that looked like a kitchen again....we jumped at the opportunity to gather.
there were moped rides, there was wrestling for sugar (kisses)...which i think was in fact achieved:), food, visiting, and of course......

fireworks!

i'll go ahead and admit that this was my first time to not be at a park watching on a blanket. i think it was my first time to hold a sparkler, and certainly my first time to partake in any of the grand fireworking. i particularly loved river dancing with barbie and alec on the poppers.;) actually, barbie held my hand through all of them cause i was quite the scaredy cat....i watch the news, you know.
