so...i'm better. i figure i should tell you that, since i so freely tell you when i'm not so much better.
my mum and my auntie (no, silly, I don't call them that in real life) spent the day with me saturday....i'm talking 9:30am to 12:30am(when mum left). we took load after load after load to the storage unit(s) and did a whole mess of reconfiguring our grand collection of things. i can do a cartwheel in my living room. and my bedroom. and well, that is how i determine happiness. if i can do a cartwheel in it, life is superb.
did you even know the mess of things that can be accomplished when 3people (vs 1)are doing it?! oh.my.word.
today i woke up eager to pile up mum's truck with the boxes, bags, and things that were seeping from every possible space in the treehouse. under my bed, in every closet, balcony, balcony closet, even plopped right in the middle of my living room or stacked in a corner of my bedroom. these things needed out. and i knew that when they left i would be able to breathe. my professional self is no longer stored in my face. my professional self is growing. i am stretching out, moving into my own professional space, and am finally allowed to separate and DO. i'm here. alas, i am here.
and what that means too, is that my personal self gets to grow some more. i am relishing the decluttering process. i can see every wall and bit of floor in my closet. i can see every article of clothing at once. i have every art/craft/project supply possible stacked floor to ceiling in fantastic plastic storage drawers in the balcony closet. even my file cabinet has a new space and it is NOT in my room {hAlLeLuJah!}. if i said nothing else, life just might be content.
but no! today was more than about being content. today was the day dear ol uncle tommy brought his handy-man-talents to my tree house and put up shelves in my laundry room (which is attached to my kitchen). and these shelves transformed that space into a makeshift pantry....so that i can actually see my food! i just completed the transition of my kitchen, and it's pretty much grand. if i was one of The Little's (remember them?), i could totally do cartwheels in my kitchen cabinet space. yessss.
it is safe to say that in this tree house every nook, cranny, and crevice is being tended to. and that feels darn good.
want to know what comes next???
i know you do.
i couldn't actually hear you, but since i know you want to know, i'm gonna tell you....
mum is coming early in the morning (after I pick up a vintage yellow office chair for my classroom....perhaps a picture tomorrow) and we will be adding a splash of the lightest palest pink to ever exist to the walls of my bedroom. it's a whole process of making my space truly my happy little space. more than just decluttered and open and almost bare so that i can breathe.........but hopefully beautiful. and it too will be a process, and will evolve.
i will show you pictures as we get through it all. cause we are in fact, getting through it all. and my mother heart simply will not allow the classroom to shine, until the home front is our "perfected" foundation. this is where we come home to....our retreat from the world. this is where we feel true love. where we are reminded of our beliefs, our values, and our core. where we rejuvenate and refresh our spirit, mind, and body. where we release, process, and progress. where we are safe and free to be.
and oh how that classroom will also evolve over the school year. what fun this is going to be!
thank you thank you thank you for your help, and in all the wondrous ways that you do in fact help!!!!! i like feeling better.
