my cute boy and I actually had a little time to just be...together in our own special moments over the break. not near as many as I'd like and I'm feeling a bit sad about it, but it's good (only 6 weeks left at this point). we are nice and rested (there was a lot of sleeping) and good back in our routine. & then there was the much needed friend time. I had several opportunities to just be a grownup while Alec had 2 sleepovers with his cousins...hense the trip to ol San Anton' to the temple, time to work at the drive-in, and hanging out with friends.
alec's friend-time included:
inner space caverns, skateboarding, moped-ing, and
video gaming with cousins, a late night hide & seek type game in the park with smores and all, time to work on pinewood derby cars and play with fellow cub scouts, an all-nighter (as in awake the entire night!!) with his cousin Chandler followed by an early morning walk with his grandma, and a fabulous night of tree climbing, jungle-gym playing, and listening to live music at the Central Market Cafe.

girl time wrapping up Alec's basketball season, welcoming home a missionary with good friends and a visit to our old ward, SXSW (more like laughing, great people-watching, and feeling the music from afar), an impromptu tailgating, a super quick visit upon arrival from my San Antonio jaunt (which by the way I have successfully downloaded the original Super Mario Bros & Super Mario Bro 3 on our Wii!), and some nice hanging out in the breeze with the fun music and our happy kids at Central Market. so nice.
nothing creative...ever. that's my biggest regret.
the closest to creative I get is painting Alec's pinewood derby car. and it's spray paint so not much creativity happening there.
no hammock and no water. but they will come. immediately upon graduation I must lay my body in a hammock and just be.
my biggest oh my gosh moments over the week....our 4 hour nap on the Saturday after my comprehensive exams, getting some super false & frightening information as to what was going to be on the "videos" my son has to watch at school this week, getting a new car/returning the new car, & officially ordering my graduation announcements, picking out my dress, scheduling my hair appointment, and finding out my hood color for my degree. it's really happening.
