wow, thanks President Uchtdorf.  thanks for reminding me of things i should never forget.  things like to be patient with myself, to use my time wisely and dedicate my time and energy to the things that matter most, to not wait for my golden ticket to live but to look for the simple joys in life, to not add living the gospel to my to do list but to allow it to enrich my life in beautiful ways so that each day is sweeter.  and also for reminding me that God loves me even when i'm lonely and weak and make mistakes.  that he knows me and loves me, and that he hasn't forgotten me.  that was perfect timing, i tell you.

oh and i thought it was a particularly nice touch to make your golden ticket example about a single elementary teacher who was waiting to meet her husband so she could be the wife and mother she always wanted to be (but never became).  i know that your talk was planned way ahead of my meltdown, but it clearly was exactly what i needed to hear.  no golden tickets for me, just finding joy in the blessings i already have.  i will be a good mother to my boy, a good teacher to those in my care, and a darn good mother-in-law and grandma one day if that's the way it turns out.
