this morning i slept in...until 8am. it was quite refreshing actually. i know i slept soundly because the second i laid down i was out, and i woke up in that same position to birds chirping hours later. i'm beyond drained.
i contemplated my day: clean NOW or see if there are treasures awaiting me at local yard sales? the treasures won. this day is more than beautiful. the temperature is perfect, a sweet breeze is blowing (my favorite) and all really feels right in the world.
i looked at those For Sale signs sitting in front of cute houses as i drove the neighborhood and felt good about passing them by. this morning i was particularly drawn to the leases and rentals and even called on every single one. ONE stole my heart. really. really really really. and the fact that i could just reside in it and give it back when we make big life transitions makes me feel even more content right now. i called on it, and while the price seemed a bit high (not really, but a tad for my publicservicejobhaving pocket book) i thought i could kiss the guy through the phone when he said, "we're thinking (said amount), but it's really negotiable." really negotiable could put me in a sweet perfect for us HOUSE...perfect location, path of least change (the boy staying in his school, my travel time to and fro remaining the same, same ward, etc), perfectly plopped on a quiet street across from one of our favorite parks, perfectly located with a lush greenbelt behind us, perfectly engulfed in trees galore, perfectly providing all the outdoor beauty we could ever need sitting in our own yard, and perfectly surrounded by families. while i drove the street slightly stalkerish about 11 times, i saw 3 boys running through the yards with bows and arrows playing...and they weren't much younger than my own cute boy. a neighborhood! oh my, the possibilities. they are in the forefront of my mind.
i landed myself a camel color beaded necklace for 50cents, a beautiful leather purse from brazil (never used) for 1.50, and a sweet 2.00 birdcage with interesting greenery waiting for my own addition of a perfectly colorful (fake) bird to perch inside it at which point it will live on my spring mantle. those treasures were well worth the morning.
i'm home again. the doors and windows are open, the tree has sprouted every one of it's leaves and hugs our treehouse almost completely, and we are happy as can be about it. the breeze blowing the wind makes me want to nap...so i might. [as we listened to one of my favorite school CDs in my classroom on Friday (it was a very soothing and happy song and many of the children were humming to it), one of my girls said, "this song makes me want to pee" i'm glad she didn't.] in a bit, taylor swift will be getting me pumped up Rocky-style to take on my house. i haven't slept in my bed in about 4 weeks...darn mountain of clothes again. i'm happy to be getting our world in order today and doing for US. i've been tragically neglecting US.
happy happy saturday.
