work has been madness.  typically in a school there is rapid, full on pressure for creativity in the midst of chaos.   lucky for me, i can do better at the academics if i get a chance to be creative, so i've been working that a tad.  on crazy hat day i got to wear a vintage sequined hat i had been eying for a couple of years in a row from the button lady in round top.  this was my first time wearing it even though i've owned it for about 2 or 3 years now.  and it only cost me $6;)  my kids loved it.  if you look closely at the photo you can see what i scored for the classroom this year at round top. And guess who's class won the 2nd Annual Pumpkin Contest for the second year in a row???  It has to be a book character and after lots and lots and lots of research to find the perfect character and many rounds of voting, the students decided on SkippyjonJones.  He came together at the VERY LAST MINUTE and we were pretty proud of how he turned out.  Even more proud when they announced our name...they could hear our (totally surprised) celebration through the entire hall (oops!).
