the rocker can now...rock.

mum and i were yard sale-ing one day during the summer. kind of late in the morning we happened upon a sale where the lady was DYING to get rid of her things. i immediately spotted her red rocking chair and commented on it...only it wasn't for sale. she had pulled it out of her garage to sit on during the sale. so i rummaged through and found a couple of things (like my total was 75cents or something) and we thanked her and headed on our way. she was offering us many things...many many many. i couldn't really find anything else and i didn't want to need to have my own yard sale soon from just collecting junk so we declined. and then she threw in THE CHAIR. FOR FREE. and so i threw the chair in the car and sped away! oh we had big plans for this chair!
it took several months, but i found the perfect fabric (on suuuuuper sale). and after another considerable amount of time we gathered up the supplies to replace the red (full of dog hair) fabric and disintegrating foam.

i don't have a picture of the before (shame shame shame on me), but i do have pictures of the process and the after. the work was done at mums and then we transferred it to the treehouse where it now lives.
we high fived. we celebrated. we rocked.
