dear sweet beautiful saturday,
i love you. you are certainly one of my most favorite days. there is reason to delight in each day for its own particularly important reasons, but saturday is an all encompassing day of plenty. whether i sleep in (like today) and take my jolly time getting going, or i jump out of bed in the wee hours with purpose (usually a garage sale or some kind of shopping something or other), i LOVE these mornings. and the day is always filled with all of the have to's, need to's, and want to's (all of which are laid out by all members our family...me and the cute boy...at some point friday night or saturday morning). that is the expectation and goal of every saturday, and it is a big grand day (whether we choose to lounge and not see a peep of the world outside or relish in all of its glory or stand tall in every worldly treasure). so today we NEED to get ink for the printer and put away all of the clothes in our house. we WANTed to sleep in and enjoy that no real thing is planned today (and we did/are)!!! we WANT to be checked in to THEgame. the boy MUST have play time, skate time, looooong shower/detox time, a smidge momma-cute-boy-date-time, and birthday party time with the BFF this afternoon. i am feeling CERTAIN of having a little craft show time, picked up house time, computer/blogging time, and enjoying this AMAZING weather time.....i love it so!!!!!!
school update?
this week was better at school! i want to share that i'm doing a bit of my own thing and finally getting some of my ideas (or at least how i envision my classroom functioning) going on my classroom. i've started centers {THANK YOU MOLLY LOU for the hours of brainstorming, planning, and getting it all together mentally}, and they are beyond a hit! the kids love the centers happening in our class, i get to grade something other than worksheets, we all get to feel the shift in learning that's taking place, and it just happened to be that i was observed 4times in 3days this week (getting oober recognized) for these grand centers. the funny thing is these centers are what are SUPPOSED TO BE HAPPENING ANYWAY. (but whatever) so i'm pleased with how it's turning it out, and for the direction it's all going. my behavior management stinks, but i did have a beautiful moment after lunch yesterday: one of my little amigos was asking to do something and after a short conversation he said "we can't talk you into anything!" this is beyond music to my ears. no really, i am the biggest push over and totally feel like THEY run my class. hallelujah!! to me, it was/is important for them to feel like i'm in control....probably because it is such a joke and i'm so not;).
okay, that's my news for the day because i've GOT to go enjoy it! the boy is in the shower spoken of above and i'm cleaning to the sounds of THEgame. did i mention i LOVE today????
