am i even a blogger anymore??
i think writing blocks come when you aren't sure the purpose of what you're writing for.
since my blog is ever evolving, i haven't really known what it's current state is, and that leads me drifting off to other things.
i keep writing and then deleting.
my hands are in fists in the air pleading, "what do you want to hear??!" and i'm even asking it in an accent. (it's my imagination so i get to decide on those types of details;)
if i'm simply keeping record of my life then i could say that in a few weeks my boy will walk into our local high school and walk the halls as a freshman. he'll attend early morning seminary before his school day even begins. he'll take english, geometry, history, science, and something else i can't think of. he'll play football in the fall and basketball in the spring. he'll finish up his final scouting requirements by the end of this school year, and hopefully have a good plan for his eagle project next summer. okay, i'm getting ahead of myself with this talk of next summer.
for now, we are focusing on updating his room a smidge for his older self. his roughly 6ft tall body is hanging off his twin bed (it's truly my grandma who has had enough of that for him). so this week, the bigger bed will move in, the smaller bed will move out, and some adjusting of things will occur. wish us luck...we both are freaks about change, and for me i feel like i'm watching my little boy slip through my fingers.
our church ward split a few weeks back and we are finding our place in that. we are meeting new friends, getting new callings, and still processing the change. change isn't necessarily bad, it's just different, and so we (mostly I) process.
i sold my little honey of a 10 year old car a couple weeks ago and it was unbelievably SAD. we are doing much better, but i'm pretty over driving a truck. i'm so thankful to be borrowing from my mom, but i reeeeeally am ready to find the right deal for us. i know the car, just need the lender, and a deal. bring on them both!
i have paid off all 4 credit cards and 3 out of 5 medical bills. aside from that is my grand student loan, which is all good and planned out and on its way to forgiveness. i am in the process of gutting my treehouse (again) and am surprisingly coming up with quite a loot. i'm hoping it pays off those final medical bills so i can start looking good on paper again. my word it's easy to start looking like a hot mess when you let a few things go!
speaking of hot mess, i think i need TWO root canals. the boy wants braces. and my feet are crippling me. crippling i tell you. i started walking 3 miles a day for a while and realized really quickly that my feet are not strong enough: flat feet, bunions, and plantar fasciitis. you should see me get up to walk to the other side of the room. i mostly fake it in public, but i'm worried about starting work in a few weeks. i have my "healthy feet" shoes picked out and am going to order them as soon as i can. i hope they are dreamy. i need dreamy painless walking:) i've been doing yoga for my feet. no no, that's what it's called Yoga For Your Feet. it helps and i can feel the insides trying to realign themselves and make sense of what they are supposed to be doing. it is a crazy ACHY process.
with the boy being in high school and staying later for practices i am going to tutor after school and put myself in a position to get all that healthy stuff taken care of. i'll still be able to pick him up from school and everything! can we hope and pray and plead that his body does not get hurt this year? thanks for that:)
i'm excited to start my 4th year of teaching! i have my classroom all set up, and will do my 3 bulletin boards once they put the supplies out for me to do so. it really only took me about 4 hours!!! it was amazing how fast it went. i even changed a few things in room arrangement, but they seemed like such life altering things that i swear the room filled with light and hallelujah was sung really loudly. i can't wait to see how functional it turns out to be. i feel less chaotic and overwhelmed and crazy with the beginning of the year approaching. i understand what they are talking about in our trainings and can even imagine how i can implement their ideas in my room. dare i say that i'm headed into a school year that starts off feeling like i might know what i'm doing?! i will keep you posted;)
okay, off to finish my closet before bed. or to just go to bed...........
