this week our sweet little leopardGecko (Tabor) went to leopardGecko heaven. it was a family decision that we came to after learning he hadCANCER. (yeah, we didn't know such things were possible either). tabe-tabe was with us 4 years and a couple of months (he was alec's 8th year birthday present from a friend), and in his last days we massaged his skin and fed him twice a day with a syringe (because he couldn't see anymore). in fact his last weeks/days were likely just miserable (lots of gory details i'll spare you from knowing)....although there was a lot of family bonding so maybe he felt that??
did you know that one could be so upset having to make THE decision about another living things life? even if the living thing is of the reptile family?
we were considering this adorable stray kitten that has fallen in love with the cute boy over at his grandma's house (which consequently we have also fallen a bit in love with her, too). but after having to make these kinds of decisions (and after millions of dollars of care) we decided to love animals from afar for a while.
